Greetings! This site is where I share my thoughts, experiences, and creations pertaining to the most supreme of pastimes: roleplaying. More specifically, table-top roleplaying.
My name is Anthony, and I’m sometimes known as “GM Silverbeard.” I’ve been roleplaying since around 1988. I’m generally a “Forever Game Master,” one who spends the majority of his RPG time behind screens devising ways to challenge players and slay their characters.
I’m of the “old school” within the hobby (and not just old, thank you!). For me, the good old analog version of roleplaying is my preferred way of experiencing this beloved hobby of ours. While playing online is fine, I prefer being at a table, surrounded by players in the flesh, and using minimal game aids (lest they get in the way of the theater within our minds).
I know, calling oneself “old school” in terms of roleplaying is a bit of a controversial topic these days. But I welcome everyone at my table. It is a place where the game itself holds primacy, and everyone is united in their love of this unique endeavor, one that merges our most primal needs for community and mythic stories with the desire to challenge ourselves and others with games and puzzles.
To you reading this, I hope you become a frequent visitor to this site. If we haven’t already, may we one day meet at the table! Until then, I bid you be well. Game on!
P.S. This post was named in homage to my former RPG blog, Once More Unto the Breach. If you’re curious and have some time to kill, you can check out that old blog on, ack, Blogspot! I started it in 2010 after discovering the plethora of OSR blogs that dragged me back into the hobby after a hiatus.
