Ron (left, grinning wickedly at the camera) has me (the beardo with my hands up) running games in his lair for some usual suspects (faces hidden to protect the not-so-innocent)

If you haven’t met Ron Meischker yet, let me give you a preview.

Ron is the mastermind behind the Philadelphia Area Gaming Expo, aka PAGE. With the help of his wife Jen and a loyal squad of staff and volunteers, Ron has launched what has become one of the premier gaming conventions on the East Coast.

Does that sound like I’m just Ron’s raving disciple? Well, that’s beside the point! Don’t take it from me, then. Go to the PAGE Facebook, er, page.

Take a scroll through, and you’ll see just a fraction of the fun over 1,500 gamers experienced during the second annual PAGE. You may also see some of the numerous industry luminaries who were there, such as Frank Mentzer and David “Zeb” Cook, two of the seminal folks who helped forge the legend of Dungeons & Dragons from its earliest days.

Also, you might spot YouTubers like Professor Dungeon Master, Bob World Builder, Ben Milton of Questing Beast, and others. You will also see game creators like Kelsey Dionne (creator of the smash hit Shadowdark RPG), Troll Lord Games, and many more.

A shot of my Shadowdark game at PAGE 2. The players did well before the avatar of a mad god slew them all! Ah, convention memories are the best, aren’t they?

Ron, with is obviously sorcerous ways, has summoned something incredible with PAGE, which has become a force in the convention circuit after only two years! PAGE has been such a success that they are tripling the size of the convention space for the next one!

So, why not check it out and get your badge for PAGE 3 in January 2026? I hope to see you there!

P.S. Did I mention the PAGE mascot is a cheesesteak beholder? Meet Phil E. Cheesesteak!
